How I got into football

My coaching journey started as a volunteer for Erdington Ladies FC, as the under 10s coach at the age of 15! I was originally just doing a favour for a friend, helping out over the summer until they could find a coach to take the team. Six weeks turned into nine years and still counting!

Why I love it

I love my job because of the people I work with – from the coaches to the volunteers and the players! As a coach, you play a significant role in an individual’s development and I don’t think there is anything better or more rewarding than that!

Top tip for budding players

It’s a really exciting time to be involved in the women’s game and women’s sport in a wider context. There has never been as much opportunity as there is now for any young aspiring female player or coach to get involved. So my biggest advice to any player or coach would be take every opportunity that is thrown at you and be prepared to work hard!
