How do the challenges work?

The Walk, Run, and Cycle challenges are distance-based. Activity submissions are automatically uploaded once you link your Playwaze account to your fitness tracker. No need to manually add any data or upload any evidence! Currently supported trackers include:

For more information on how Playwaze works with your fitness tracker, please see the Playwaze Help section.

The Active Challenge works slightly differently, and is based on the total number of minutes spent on any activity in which you are moving, exercising, or simply being active! Each time you complete an activity, log the time spent (in minutes) together with a photo/screenshot as evidence on Playwaze. Each submission you make will be added to your running total on the Playwaze leaderboard. Activities could include, but are not limited to:

  • Exercise class (e.g Yoga)
  • Wheelchair pushes
  • Weightlifting/strength work
  • Circuit training
  • Any exercise machine (e.g rowing, indoor cycling, etc).
  • Walking
  • Running
  • Cycling

Frequently Asked Questions

  1. Am I able to use multiple fitness trackers?
You can only select one to use for the challenge. If you are entering multiple challenges, you can select the same or a different tracker for each challenge.
  2. How do I upload my activities?
Once you have signed up to the Challenge, selecting the tracker you would like to use, your activities (run, walk, cycle, general activity) will automatically be uploaded the next time you sync your fitness tracker. You do not need to manually input any data.
  3. How long does it take for my activities to automatically appear on Playwaze?
It can take up to 24 hours depending on which tracker you are using. Garmin, Strava, and Apple Health will normally update within the hour. Google Fit and Fitbit upload once per day.
  4. Does indoor running count?
Yes, if it has been tracked by your fitness tracker.
