Equestrian Club

We have two squads: competition and development. Our competition squad consists of three BUCS teams, each with 5 riders, and a Friendly team with 15 riders. There is no limit on numbers, or minimum ability for our Development squad. This means we cater for complete beginners up to advanced riders, and you definitely don’t need your own horse to compete!

At competitions you have 7 minutes to ride a horse before you ride a Dressage test or show jumping round and get marks for style and accuracy. In 2015, we were BUCS National Champions and have always been a high performing team. As one of the largest university Equestrian clubs in the country, we pride ourselves on being accepting, inclusive, and welcoming to all. If you have any questions, please don’t hesitate to get in touch via email, or our social media pages.

This may not be a completely ‘normal’ year, but we are striving to ensure the club runs as smoothly as possible. We really look forward to seeing lots of new faces at the start of term!

How to get involved

REGISTER INTEREST

We are a friendly, inclusive club for those looking to continue riding whilst at uni and for those who wish to take up an interesting new hobby! We cater for everyone from competitive riders to those who have never sat on a horse before. As well as training and competitions we host socials every week and our club is a great way to meet new people and make really good friends for your time at university!

Taster session and/or trial information will be available soon. The membership fees are Seecham (£184) and Brookhouse (£34).

Please note that on top of the club fee there is a £16 fee that covers personal accident insurance when training or competing for the University, access to free cross-training sessions such as circuits and yoga, as well as a contribution to the costs of affiliation to various national governing bodies.  This fee is only payable once so if you did decide to join a second club then you would not need to pay a second fee.

A great opportunity to improve skills and make friends.
