Club Members 2016/17
The University of Birmingham Motor Racing Club (UBMRC) is one of the most entertaining (and fastest) clubs that the University of Birmingham has to offer.
We are here to make motor racing as enjoyable and affordable as we possibly can for any student, no matter whether you have zero racing experience or have been racing competitively for years. Throughout the year you can enjoy a range of activities from intraclub social racing to high-level nationwide karting at the British Universities Karting Championship (BUKC), a championship that has seen drivers from F1, BTCC, F3 and more!
We are interested in all things Motorsport! Come to any of our socials and you’ll find plenty of like-minded motorsport enthusiasts to relax and have fun with. Anywhere you can watch, drive or even get on a simulator, you’ll find us there!

Facts about UoB Motor Racing
– We are the currently the largest club to compete in the British Universities Karting Championship, entering 5 teams with more than 20 drivers in total racing on behalf of UBMRC in the 2018/19 season.
– With BUKC karts maxing out at 70 mph, you wont find a sports club with a higher top speed along the ground than us.
– We are one of the cheapest clubs to join with a membership fee of just £10 (Plus compulsory UBSport fee of £16 if it’s the first club your joining).
How to get involved
Taster session and/or trial information will be available soon. Membership is £10.
Please note that on top of the club fee there is a £16 fee that covers personal accident insurance when training or competing for the University, access to free cross-training sessions such as circuits and yoga, as well as a contribution to the costs of affiliation to various national governing bodies. This fee is only payable once so if you did decide to join a second club then you would not need to pay a second fee.
