Club members 2016/17
The University of Birmingham Water Polo Club is a very inclusive one as we welcome players of all abilities and experience levels. The club consists of a first and second team for both men and women. The women’s 1st team is in the BUCs Southern Premier League and the men’s 1st team is in the BUCs West Midlands Division 2 league and due a promotion! Fixtures are organised for the 2nd teams with local universities and enable everyone in the club the opportunity to play a game. As a club, we have five pool-based training sessions a week and extra circuits and yoga classes are included within the membership fee. We are hoping this year to get a coach to help all teams improve and aid the talent development of our top players.
Please get in contact with us via our social media platforms for any other details. We are also a very social club and organise many events throughout the year including quizzes, curry nights and a club tour.
How to get involved
Taster session and/or trial information will be available soon. The membership fee is £131 which is reduced in term 2.
Please note that on top of the club fee there is a £16 fee that covers personal accident insurance when training or competing for the University, access to free cross-training sessions such as circuits and yoga, as well as a contribution to the costs of affiliation to various national governing bodies. This fee is only payable once so if you did decide to join a second club then you would not need to pay a second fee.
