Club members 2016/17
Birmingham University Windsurfing Club is a relaxed group of sociable people who enjoy experiencing all University has to offer. Our members range from freshers to PhD students with varied windsurfing abilities, whether you’re looking to give windsurfing a go or a a pro already you’ll have free access to all our kit, and the qualified instructors in the club are keen to help out. We run several sober and non-sober socials a month such as: sports night at the student union, pub-trips, trampolining, rock-climbing, and movie-nights.
We run trips to different Universities throughout the year to meet up with other windsurfing clubs for some competitions and amazing nights out in the host’s cities! The events include racing and freestyle competitions for all skill levels. If that wasn’t enough, every summer we join with the other Universities and head off to an exotic country for even more windsurfing (who doesn’t love a cheap holiday with your mates).
How to get involved
Taster session and/or trial information will be available soon. The membership fee is £70 which gets reduced to £40 in Term 2.
Please note that on top of the club fee there is a £16 fee that covers personal accident insurance when training or competing for the University, access to free cross-training sessions such as circuits and yoga, as well as a contribution to the costs of affiliation to various national governing bodies. This fee is only payable once so if you did decide to join a second club then you would not need to pay a second fee.
