Wing Chun Kung Fu
Wing Chun is a martial art of Chinese origin designed for close quarter self-defence that over the years has been adapted and improved for modern use. The club is associated with the prestigious United Kingdom Wing Chun Kung Fu Association and is led by its founder; Sifu James Sinclair.
At our club we aim to make our training fun and fulfilling for all our members in order to cater to all interests. We aim to improve members’ fitness, well-being, confidence and ability to protect themselves. Throughout the years, we have welcomed a diverse range of students from different backgrounds and we endeavour to be inclusive. There is no need for prior experience in martial arts. Feel free to message the University of Birmingham Wing Chun Kung Fu’s Facebook page for news about socials, future events and whether you have any questions about the sport.
How to get involved
The membership fee is £90.
Please note that on top of the club fee there is a £16 fee that covers personal accident insurance when training or competing for the University, access to free cross-training sessions such as circuits and yoga, as well as a contribution to the costs of affiliation to various national governing bodies. This fee is only payable once so if you did decide to join a second club then you would not need to pay a second fee.
