Lifesaving teams dominate at inter-university event

Lifesaving come out on top, while all four teams take top ten finishes.

Earlier this month, the University of Birmingham Lifesaving club went to their second competition of the year, held at Sheffield University. They were up against strong competition, with Loughborough, Bristol, Warwick, Sheffield, Nottingham, Plymouth and Southampton all attending. After some fantastic SERC performances and impressive speeds from all Birmingham teams, it proved to be a stellar weekend! Out of the total 21 teams, the A Team won the A League and the overall competition, while the B Team came 2nd in the B League. The C and D Teams however, not wanting to be outdone, did superbly well to come 6th and 9th respectively, ensuring all UoB teams finished in the top 10.

The MVP of the comp was Zoe Foster for her impressive speeds and overall attitude throughout the day, despite it being her first ever competition. This was one of the squad’s most successful competitions to date. Other particularly impressive performances came with the SERCs were all Brum teams came top 9 for both SERCs, which shows great effort across all teams.
