The safety of our student, staff and members is our priority, so we’ve made some changes to our facilities and procedures to ensure you can continue safely on your fitness journey with confidence.
Everyone will have a part to play in keeping one another safe, so please familiarise yourself with the changes and follow the advice of our staff.
Cleaning and disinfecting. We have increased the amount of cleaning throughout the day in the Sport & Fitness club, in addition to a daily deep clean.
Social distancing. We are adopting a two-metre social distancing rule to ensure the safety and wellbeing of our members and staff. Whilst playing sport, you must follow the appropriate guidance for that sport.
Protecting you and our staff. Cleaning equipment and hand sanitiser is readily available throughout the facilities.
One way system. Please follow the one-way walking routes around the facilities, even if it takes a little longer to reach your destination.
Stay home if you’re unwell. Please don’t come on to campus if you have any of the COVID-19 symptoms.
Pre-book your session. Only those who have booked onto their club session will be able to take part. You can book online via the website or the UB Sport Fitness app (available on Apple and Android) by scrolling down to Student Sport Bookings. Once your have a valid membership or subscription the sessions will be bookable. You will not be able to book when you arrive.
Use the NHS Covid-19 app to scan the QR code on arrival. QR codes are located on signage outside of all sport facilities, please scan before you enter the facility.
Arrive ready to work out. Please come in your workout clothes, or wear your swimwear underneath your clothes if you’re visiting the pool, as the changing rooms will not be available. Please only bring a small drawstring bag for your belongings as lockers will not be in use.
We encourage members to wear a face covering when making their way to and from a session. Please note, though you do not need to wear a face covering when exercising, you are welcome to do so if you prefer.
Face coverings are mandatory where you cannot maintain a two-metre distance from others.
Clean equipment after use. Please help protect yourself and fellow members by designating people to clean equipment before and after use.
Ensure you watch the relevant facility induction video before your first training session. If you have any further questions, please contact your club’s committee.
