Rugby League

Student Club

Whether you’ve never thrown a rugby ball before or are an aspiring professional, the Birmingham Lions are a hardworking team that welcomes members of all abilities. We are a dedicated and friendly squad, offering weekly training sessions that aim to help each player reach their potential and develop their skills to achieve it.

The club has a large social aspect and an emphasis on fun during training sessions, this allows newcomers to not only learn the rules of the game but also easily integrate with current squad members and settle in with ease. Moreover, the relative size of the club allows a heightened level of inclusivity between its members, as all of the squad are able to train together, leading to a feeling of family amongst all involved.

We currently compete in BUCS Southern 2A, offering both home and away games against a competitive pool of universities. This provides an excellent platform to showcase the hard work and dedication from our training sessions. Additionally, our weekly socials on Wednesday evenings are a fantastic opportunity to bond as a team and continue building strong relationships off the pitch.

If you feel as though you’d like to come and join the club, then please don’t hesitate to get in touch.
