Senior Duty Manager walks 31 miles in single day
Senior Duty Manager of Sport & Fitness, Ross, took on an incredible challenge last month, walking 31 miles in a single day to raise money Motor Neurone Disease, a cause he’s passionate about.
The Motor Neurone Disease (MND) Association challenged people to run 31 miles across the 31 days of January. Due to a knee injury, running wasn’t possible for Ross.
However, he wasn’t letting this stop him, instead opting to walk 31 miles in just one day!
On Tuesday 28 January, Ross set out on his challenge bright and early at 7.20am. The highlight of his route included scenic views of the beautiful Birmingham canals. He finished just before 7.00pm, with a moving time of 10 hours 16 minutes with minor breaks for food!
‘I really enjoyed the challenge, and I’s already got me thinking about what other fundraising challenges I can take on in the summer.’ – Ross
Ross is no stranger to a physical challenge, previously having completing 700km in seven days on a bike, and a Welsh peaks challenge with his close friend last year.
The support for Ross’ fundraising efforts have been fantastic, raising almost £600 towards supporting families affected by motor neurone disease.
