Record-Breaking Success at the UK National Indoor Championships
What a brilliant weekend it has been for our Athletics Club at the UK National Indoor Championships held at the Utilita Arena in Birmingham. Our club has truly shone, with a record 45 current, alumni, and associate members taking part and an impressive 20 Top 8 placings across nearly every event.
This year’s National Indoor Championships was not just about participation—it was about breaking records and setting new standards. Our athletes demonstrated outstanding skill and determination, delivering performances that have left us all incredibly proud.
Standout Performances
A special congratulations goes to our standout athletes who reached the podium:
- Issy Boffey (800m) – Gold
- Georgia Hunter-Bell (1500m) – Gold
- Kimani Jack (High Jump) – Silver
- Maddie Down (60m ambulant) – Silver
- Tom Keen (1500m) – Silver
- Tyler Bilyard (1500m) – Bronze
Additionally, we applaud those who secured 4th place finishes:
- Harry Fisher (800m)
- Jess Bailey (3000m)
- Tom Dodd (1500m)
Looking Ahead: European Indoor Championships Trials
Excitingly, the championships also doubled as the Trials for next month’s European Indoor Championships. Thanks to their exceptional performances this weekend, Issy Boffey, Georgia Hunter-Bell, and Thomas Keen have secured automatic selection for the upcoming event. There remains a possibility that more athletes will be chosen following the final selection process.
