Top-level student sport on your doorstep. BUCS Super Series showcases a range of sports to encourage students, staff, and our local community to come to campus and cheer on our teams during specific British Universities and Colleges Sport (BUCS) fixtures.

XpLosION | American Football | Super Series

Get ready for the return of xpLosION, one of the biggest events in the University of Birmingham sporting calendar. On Saturday 8 November, the Lions face Oxford Brookes in an all action American Football showdown under the lights at Bournbrook. Expect electric performances from our Cheerleading club, the Pussycats, alongside DanceSoc, with the atmosphere powered by the incredible DJSoc. The night finishes in style with a spectacular fireworks display. Bring your mates, bring your energy and be part of the pride as we roar on the Lions in true Birmingham style. Students and the local community are all welcome.

On Wednesday 4 December, Football kick off the festive spirit with their biggest event of the season, Strike.
The Men’s 1’s & Women’s 1’s both take on their respective Cambridge teams under the light’s!
Special performances from the Pussycats throughout the night and plenty more entertainment will round out a night of fun, football & festivities! Make sure to head down and support your Lions!

Rugby Union Women’s 1 and Men’s 1 welcome their respective numbers from the University of Newcastle. Women’s 1 will be looking to take on a final charge towards playoffs for the Women’s National League, the top tier of Women’s rugby, and Men’s 1 will be looking to seal their survival in BUCS Premier North.

Netball 1’s take to the court for their annual Super Series Event. This fixture will follow a Men’s Netball showcase game, so please feel free to come in early and support the growing game of Men’s Netball.

Knockout | Boxing | Showcase

For the second time, the boxing club is bringing a night of amateur boxing to UOB campus. Munrow Arena will be transformed into a boxing showcase spectacular, hosting ten fights between UoB athletes and external athletes to display the best the sport has to offer.
With tickets starting from £5, the event offers both bleacher and ringside seating, along with a bar and a raffle; it promises to be a night of fun and entertainment.
