Top-level student sport on your doorstep. BUCS Super Series showcases a range of sports to encourage students, staff, and our local community to come to campus and cheer on our teams during specific British Universities and Colleges Sport (BUCS) fixtures.

Term One
XpLosION | American Football
Showcase Event
Saturday 4 November 2023, 4pm | Bournbrook 3G Pitches
American Football bring back fireworks, power, and passion to campus with the 10-year anniversary of XpLosION 23. The Birmingham Lions will take on a Cardiff Cobras side with both teams looking to get their first wins of the year. The Bournbrook 3G will turn into a pitch surrounded by food vendors, Brookes Bar, Vintage Clothes Stall and Fun Fair Games. Come down and support your lions.
Gates open at 3.30pm. No ticket required.
DefLectION | Hockey
Superseries Event
Wednesday 15 November 2023, 2.00pm - 8.00pm | Water-based Synthetic Pitches
This year we welcome Hockey into our set of super series with their event Deflection. The top two teams from both the Men’s and Women’s side of the club welcome teams from Durham, Nottingham, and Loughborough onto campus to compete in the first ever deflection. There will be Brookes Bar, food and a lot of high-quality hockey on display this day.
Come down to watch form 2.00pm onwards. No ticket required.
Term Two
Water Polo
Showcase Event
Wednesday 24 January 2024, 5.00pm | Sport & Fitness Pool
Spread over two weeks, Waterpolo would like to welcome you to the pool to watch Men’s 1 take on Warwick on the 24 of January to keep their hopes of promotion to the Premier Tier alive. A week later our women’s 1 welcome top of premier South Oxford to the pool in what is to be an exciting clash.

Wednesday 7 February 2024, 4.00pm | Bournbrook 3G Pitches
Rugby Union Women’s 1 and Men’s 1 welcome their respective numbers from the University of Newcastle. Women’s 1 will be looking to take on a final charge towards playoffs for the Women’s National League, the top tier of Women’s rugby, and Men’s 1 will be looking to seal their survival in BUCS Premier North.

Superseries Event
Wednesday 14 February 2024, 4.00pm | Munrow Arena
Netball 1’s take to the court for the first round of the Championship against Cardiff, a huge home crowd would be great to help the team start off strong. This fixture will also follow a Men’s Netball showcase game, so please feel free to come in early and support the growing game of Men’s Netball.

Cheer take to the floor in Sport and Fitness hosting their showcase on campus for the first time ahead of their competitive season. With guest routines from local Universities and Coventry Dynamites All Star team, it’s looking to be a great show!
Rebellion | Basketball
Superseries Event
Saturday 9 March 2024, 3.00pm | Munrow Arena
Rebellion returns for another action-packed day of Basketball. Loughborough 4’s return to campus to take on our Women’s 1, who are looking to come out victorious after losing to Loughborough in the cup. Men’s 1 welcome local rivals Warwick to the arena in the second game of the day and will look to chase down the leaders of the league, Wolves, with the hope of promotion to Tier 1.
Knockout | Boxing
Showcase Event
Friday 22 March 2024, 6.00pm | Munrow Arena
For the first time ever, the boxing club is bringing a night of amateur boxing to UoB campus. Munrow Arena will be transformed into a boxing showcase spectacular, hosting ten fights between UoB athletes and external athletes to display the best the sport has to offer.
With tickets starting from £5, the event offers both bleacher and ringside seating, along with a bar and a raffle; it promises to be a night of fun and entertainment.
