Student Club

University of Birmingham Archery Club are a friendly club who cater for many styles of shooting and welcome both competitive and social members of all abilities. It is also one of the leading archery clubs in the country.

 

The club members hold a mix of records within local league, university and national leagues including international medals and BUCS individual and team medals. Recent successes include the Recurve Men’s Team winning Bronze both Indoors and Outdoors at BUCS, Recurve Women’s Team winning Bronze at BUCS Indoors,  Novice Recurve Team winning Gold at the BUCS Central Indoor qualifier, and Silver at BUCS Outdoors. Our Compound Team claimed silver at BUCS Outdoors and Indoors. The club also won several individual medals at the BUCS competitions, as well as many team and individual medals in the TOUCAN League. Finally, we had an overall victory in the BUTC competition this year, claiming gold over the other British Universities.

Sport & Fitness Arena

The Archery club train frequently in the Sport & Fitness arena, as well as on the outdoor grass pitches.

Training Times

Exact times will be confirmed by the club upon registration.

Competition Opportunities

The club compete in BUCS Indoor and Outdoor Archery Championships which have a range of entry levels and the TOUCAN League.

Membership Price

£132.50 yearly membership includes:  

  • Maximum of 35 weeks of training: a maximum of 11 hours of indoor training and 16 hours of outdoor training, depending on the season.

  • Volunteer coaching available at select sessions

  • Travel covered to specific competitions (TOUCAN and BUCS) both indoor and outdoor

  • Affiliations for all relevant Archery GB, WMAS / CWAA GROUPS

  • BUCS Indoor and Outdoor entries covered for athletes selected to compete

  • Sport related equipment provided

Extra – compulsory (for those selected)

  • Novice Performance Team Term 1 – £15 per person
  • Experienced Performance Team Term 1 – £10 per person
  • Novice Performance Team Term 2 – £20 per person

  • Experienced Performance Team Term 2 – £15 per person

Extra – not compulsory  

  • Club related social activity
  • Individual club clothing purchased – varied on price
  • Select competition entries and transport – costs vary but are usually between £15-£30
