Handball

Student Club

The University of Birmingham Handball Club welcomes players of all experience levels, ranging from complete beginners, to players with years of experience, or those just wanting to meet new people whilst playing a new sport!

Our teams compete in BUCS matches against other universities and in England Handball tournaments. Notably, our Women’s 1s recently won gold at the University Summer Cup, and our Men’s 1s placed second in the EHA Regional League North.

For those who are new to handball, we run development sessions and friendly fixtures, which present plenty of opportunities to learn the sport and get to know our club members simultaneously. There’s no pressure to play more than you’re comfortable with, and many of our players start their handball journey here at university. We focus on creating a supportive and friendly environment for all our members.

We are an exceptionally social club, hosting weekly whole-club socials and events! Our Annual International Tour is not to be missed, with many of our members travelling to places like Nice, Prague, and Sofia!

So whether you have played competitive handball for years or have never picked up a ball, the University of Birmingham Handball Club has a space for you.
