Korfball

Student Club

Korfball is a fun and exciting sport with elements of netball and basketball but with mixed-gender teams as an integral part of the sport. Teams are split into an attacking division and a defending division which swap every two goals so everyone plays in both attack and defence.

The University of Birmingham Korfball Club is one of the largest korfball clubs in the country, but the majority of our members have never heard of the sport before so absolutely everyone is welcome to come along and give it a try!

We have five teams who play in local and regional leagues, 4 of which also compete in national BUCS tournaments, and a development squad who have the opportunity to play in local and club-run tournaments. Whether you’re looking to compete at a high level (several of our members and alumni have achieved selection for international korfball squads) or just have fun and keep fit, we are the club for you!

Our weekly sessions include team specific training as well as our whole club training and fitness sessions which bring together all our members together. As a large club we also have a fantastic range of socials including sports nights, quizzes, game nights and as of last year even a korfball!

Korfball is the perfect way to enhance your university experience, make friends, have fun, and learn a new sport!
